Habiba Boumlik, PhD

Professor

I received my Ph.D. in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Strasbourg, France, in 1996. I also hold an M.A. in Arabic and Islamic Studies from the University of Strasbourg and a B.A. in French as a Foreign Language from the University of Besançon, France.

My academic background and teaching experience include Arabic, French language and Francophone cultures and literatures, linguistics, cultural anthropology, women cross-culturally, culture and society in the West, Middle Eastern history, and MENA (Middle East and North Africa) cinema. Prior to my current position at LaGuardia, I taught in France, Hungary, Egypt, and at several colleges and universities in New York.
